2024 Interbull Meeting

The 2024 Interbull annual meeting will be held in conjunction with the ICAR conference at the Rikli Balance hotel in Bled, Slovenia from 19-24 May 2024.

Participation to the meeting requires a separate paid registration fee. Information on how to register, costs and hotel booking are all available through the main event page: https://icar2024.si/  *REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN* 

The program will include in-person, full-day meetings starting with the Interbull Open and Business Meetings on May 20 and 21, continuing on May 22-24 with the ICAR meetings and trade show.

Interbull Open Meeting

The Open Meeting aims to be an inclusive space to share ideas, and the latest advances, research and innovations in genetic and genomic evaluations for beef and dairy.  We aim to accept manuscripts that clearly address the topics presented in the call for abstracts, and encourage work in progress presentations and/or cutting edge research in these areas.

The overall theme for the Interbull Open Meetings is: "Innovations in national and international genetic and genomic evaluations". Authors are invited to submit titles and abstracts within the overarching above theme that specifically address the following topics for dairy and beef:

• Big data for the benefit of genetic and genomic evaluation

• Meta-analytical methods in animal genetic and genomic evaluation.

• Experience with single-step evaluation.

• Implementing new traits in genetic and genomic evaluation systems.

• Cross-breed genetic and genomic evaluations

• Sustainability, efficiency, methane emission and adaptation/resilience.

Joint ICAR/Interbull Session

Each year there is a joint session between Interbull and its partner organisation.  This year, the Joint Interbull-ICAR session will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday 22 May.  All those who are registered for the Interbull meeting are welcome to attend this session, even if they do not have ICAR registration.    For infromation on how to register please visit https://icar2024.si/.
The theme of this year's joint session is 'Data Collection for Beef on Dairy'.  Abstract submissions are now closed.

Interbull Bulletin

The Interbull Bulletin has become a well known reference for genetic evaluation of bovine cattle worldwide. It contains the state-of-the-art in genetic evaluation methods, as well as the most recent information on national and international implementations.

Participants in the Open Meeting are expected to submit paper (up to 10 pages), based on their presentation to the Interbull Bulletin by 30 June 2024, for publication in September 2024. 

Papers presented at the joint ICAR Interbull session are not submitted to the Interbull Bulletin.  Please follow any guidelines for authors/presenters on the ICAR event website
