2020 Online Interbull Business MeetingsInterbull Reports, Strategic Plan and online Q&A Meeting
Dear Colleagues,
We hope you are all weathering the current storm in the world.
We have previously informed you that due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the ICAR/Interbull meeting that was scheduled for June 2020 in Leeuwarden had been cancelled. It since has been decided that the next ICAR/Interbull meeting will be held from 26-30 April 2021; in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands.
To address topics that we, under normal circumstances would have addressed during the 2020 Interbull Business Meeting, we are now preparing a set of documents, videos and online meetings
As in previous years, you will have access through the Interbull website to the Interbull Centre Activity and Finance Reports for the Period June 2019 – May 2020.
In addition, you will be aware that in January 2020, a strategic planning meeting was organised in Uppsala. This has resulted in a Draft Interbull 2020-2023 Strategic Plan and a concise Draft Interbull 2020-2023 Strategic Plan Executive Summary. These outline the key strategic goals for the next three to five years, and we seek your feedback on these draft plans. We would appreciate any comments you might have on either document, but the Executive Summary may be a good starting point as it provides a succinct overview of our direction.

Considering that the Interbull community is a truly global community, and therefore operates in a wide range of time zones, we wish to share some videos with you as a substitute for the Business Meeting presentations. You can then view these where and when convenient for you.

Despite the drawbacks of being in multiple time zones, we would really like to hear from you in an interactive meeting. We foresee hosting two online “Interbull 2020 Question & Answer Meetings”, focussing on business rather than technical topics. To prepare a meeting that is of interest to you, we invite you to submit your feedback, comments and questions to InterbullQandA@slu.se no later than 20 August 2020.
For organisational reasons and to help us anticipate the number of participants, registration for the Q&A meetings is mandatory. You can register until 23 August 2020 via https://interbull.org/ib/2020_interbull_meeting.
Online Interbull 2020 Q&A Meeting 1: Thursday 27 August, 09:00 CET. Online Interbull 2020 Q&A Meeting 2: Tuesday 8 September 2020, 14:00 CET.
Topics to be addressed during this meeting will be guided by the Interbull Community feedback and questions in response to our reports and videos.
Depending on your feedback, additional meetings on specific topics may be held in addition to the Online Q&A Meeting. One such additional meeting that we have already organised is a meeting with the countries involved in the InterGenomics Holstein (IgHOL) project.
The topics for the Interbull Open Meeting in Leeuwarden were released in February 2020. In principle, these topics will still be in use for the Interbull Open Meeting in Leeuwarden, which now will be organised in April 2021.
